Google

There are many new changes in Google's new privacy policy that is effective on March 1st, 2012. First, it will be able to take information from one Google product, like Gmail, and integrate data found from it with other Google services like Google search and Google Photos. Also, when you use a location-enabled Google service, it can collect information about your actual location, such as GPS signals sent from your cell phone. Google will also be able to store telephone information like your phone number, forwarding numbers, time and date of calls, duration of calls, calling-party number, SMS routing information and types of calls you make.

In the article I read, it seemed to be supporting the new policy. It says that Google can monitor the sites you go to, and display ads relevant to your age and interests. Also, one example the use is if you are on YouTube, a video may show up about how to chop an onion. This would be related to an e-mail you sent about a cooking class. Overall, the article made the new policy seem positive, because it gave the user a more personalized experience.

I think the new policy is going to help when you are searching on the web. Google will be able to display websites and ads based on your interests and what you have searched before. The policy ends up giving you options that are tailored to your interests and I believe that is a good thing.
